Bad Night

After a surprisingly pleasant dinner with an old friend, I spent the night in my own bed for the first time in a few weeks. Wouldn't you know it that my sheets were at 's place, where I took them to wash them last Sunday? I made do. I wish I could blame my sheetless state on my bad nights sleep, but no such luck.

Around 1:45 am I awoke with a start from a bad dream. It involved Mi Mama, Micah and I driving in a car (me in the back seat and Micah driving) when a scary storm came up. Tornadoes started to touch down all over the place and trees were falling across the road. I rolled up my window and was looking down to buckle my seat belt when I heard the sickening crunch of my family in the front seat being crushed. Thankfully in the dream I didn't look up -- instead I woke up. Needless to say it was really hard to shake the feeling of doom. It took me about an hour of redirecting my thoughts and reading a magazine to get back to sleep. I called home this morning for a reality check and everything is fine.

Not a very pleasant way to start a Friday.
