Glorious!
What a gorgeous day outside! It is so wonderful out, it was tough not to call in sick as I was driving to the Metro. I rode in from Shady Grove (the farthest North stop on the red line). IT cost $3.90 EACH WAY and $3.25 to park! Highway robbery! That's a total of $11.05 a day, which is the same (well almost) as the cost of parking in my building. What's a girl to do?
Micah has his hearing tomorrow, so everyone say a prayer. I still have an outlandish faith that everything will turn out in the end. Perhaps I am deluding myself.
Other than the above, everything is pretty right in my world.
I am attending the Rufus Wainwright/Ben Folds/Guster Concert tonight at Wolftrap. We have lawn seats, so much dinner is packed and I have my little foldy backsupport seat, which is a very good thing indeed. Sitting on the ground for that long would usually give me a sore back. I am not so happy about how late I will be arriving home tonight, especially since I left the house in such disarray last night...
Here's the story: Yesterday was book club. Before getting together, I went over to my apartment and packed a few things in a box, including some art from my bedroom and some new magazines that had come in the mail. Upon arriving home, I up my half-full travel mug in the box and headed for the house. The not so airtight mug over turns in the box and soaks everything with day old Hazelnut coffee! Big, frustrating ICK! So I spent 30 minutes cleaning that up and trying to save my art (which I think it ok) and when I was done there was no energy left for the dishes in the sink, the trash that need to be taken out or the plants that needed watering. So I left them. Sadly no kitchen fairy came by in the night. This morning the mess was still there, but I didn't have time to clean it up because I have to pack dinner for the concert and such. When I arrive home tonight at 1:00 am, I am sure the mess will still be there. I pray the ants don't find it! Actualy Flounder has done a number on the ants. I think they might just stay away (fingers crossed!).
Finally,
