Stuff Of Summer

Last week was hot and I was bothered. It seemed like everyother person on the street was a little more rude, short tempered and unkind. In turn I became grumpy and started to lose a little of my faith in human kind. Then last night I say a light at the end of the tunnel. While walking to the Metro afterwork I dropped my office passcard and Metro smartcard on the street. I didn't realize it until I was already in the station and turned around to backtrack. A woman sweeping up in the area I though I dropped my card said she saw a woman pick up something that could have been my cards, but didn't see which way she went. So I headed back to the station in defeat. Although I usually find Metro employees to be surley and useless I decided to ask if they had received my cards. It was a Metro Miracle! The lady from the street turned in my cards! The Metro employee was nice and helpful, returning my cards and asking my to sign for them. At the end of the day all I lost was 10 minutes!

What else is going on?

Flounder and I are trying to plan a trip to see Jords in Wisconsin, but the airlines aren't playing along. I just didn't realize that a fare could shoot up a couple hundered dollars in a matter of hours. Hmmm...maybe in the Fall...

I have signed up for PolySci 101 this fall, so Mr. BA, Mrs. WAS and Ms. Merryment should consider themselves on notice -- I will be calling you!

Our new counters and sink will be installed a week from today -- which should make the kitchen totally usable a week from tomorrow! Viva la Dishawasher! How excited am I about our new over the stove microwave? Very, of course! I am really hoping to have the painting and such done by the end of the month.

This kitchen remodel has turn our house upsidedown (I like to pretend that our home isn't usually a mess...) and there is stuff just everywhere and it's starting to drag me down. I didn't realize how depressing it can be to live in chaotic surrounds. I need to get on that...

Even though I am excited about our office move and checking out a new neighborhood, I am already starting to miss our current 'hood. Dupont Circle is just so cozy! Sadness.

And Finally...

Signe just to me a huge secret that she isn't going to share with anyone else. :)
