"You're Behind!"

Today and yesterday have been absolutely spectacular. Really perfect examples of what an early autumn day can be. I can't go outside without smiling on day like this. And frankly I need the sunshine.

Over the past week I have started to hear that insidious little voice in the back of my head telling me "You're behind!" I think the sense of anxiety I am feeling is heavily influenced by my environment. As you know, our household has been turned upside-down by remodeling over the last several months. This means far too many things aren't in their place and there are a TON of details (from tiny to large) that I need to finish before the new spaces are complete. At the same time we are in the middle of packing up our office at work in preparation for our move at the end of the month. It's a nightmare. We are shorthanded and I am surrounded by stacks of paper and giant blue crates. I would really love to have one place in my life, just one room that isn't cluttered or currently in chaos. Perhaps then I could think straight.

Meanwhile there have been plenty of other goings on as well! We discovered last Friday that poor Josie has bacterial infection, so now we have to force antibiotics into her twice a day along with her allergy medication. She has also taken with trying to escape out the front door at every opportunity. I am not sure what she is so interested in out there, but she wants OUT! Because of this new desire to escape, we have had Josie "chipped". Our cat is now marked as ours. Please, no one call PETA.

Flounder and I marked our 4 year dating anniversary on Tuesday. Four years together and we still like each other! Amazing! That very same night we had a plumbing emergency that turned out to be nothing -- though we now have a hole in our dining room ceiling as a memento. Also this week we Finally has our Focus repaired. This car has been taunting us with overheating problems for over a year! Every time we would take it in to a shop we were told that they couldn't duplicate the problem. Cripes! It took way too long and more money that we wanted to spend but we were able to find a dealership that not only isolated the problem, but also fixed it. It does feel good to know that on a warm day both of our cars will now start.

My final piece of news is that my American Government class started this week. I have a feeling that this professor is going to give me a eal run for my money. I am not going to be able to coast in anyway this time around. Cross your fingers for me. I don't want to crash and burn!
